Overview

Objective

The Fund seeks to provide qualified investors with a regular income stream and high level of liquidity to meet cash flow requirement while maintaining capital preservation.

(Qualified investors are individuals and corporations as prescribed under Para 4,10 and 11 of Schedule 6 and 7 of the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007. The current threshold is set at RM3 million for individuals as at the date of investment and RM10 million for corporations or its equivalent in foreign currencies.)

Initial Offer Period: One day only on Launch Day ie. 19 Nov 2008 at RM0.50 per unit.
Financial Year End: 31 March
Distribution Policy: Monthly, if any, automatically reinvested into additional units based on the Fund's NAV on the reinvestment date.

Investor Profile

Suitable for investors who:

  • are conservative in terms of investment;
  • are seeking Shariah-compliant investments;
  • prefer a consistent, reasonable and stable level of return on investment;
  • prefer a lower level of investment risk;
  • have a short-term investment horizon.

Strategy

The Manager will decide which Shariah-compliant instrument or sukuk to buy based primarily on their yield, relative to their credit quality and the period to maturity. The Manager aims to reduce volatility by primarily investing across various short-term Islamic financial instruments (listed or unlisted) such as government sukuk, corporated sukuk that has a maturity range of three (3) to six (6) months. A maximum 20% can be invested in sukuk issued by government and Islamic commercial papers with a maturity period of no longer than 732 days.

Asset Allocation:

  • A maximum 95% of Fund's NAV in high quality short-term Shariah-compliant instruments of a minimum short-term local credit rating of P1 or MARC 1. For any Shariah-compliant instruments longer than 365 days but not exceeding 732 days, the Fund could invest up to a maximum 20% provided that it has a minimum long-term rating of A1 or A+.
  • A minimum 5% in Shariah-based liquid assets in the Fund's account for the purpose of maintaining liquidity to meet any redemption requests.
